About Us

Our Story

Smith Grove Church has a rich history dating back to Camp Meetings held under the grove of trees. The stone marker dates back to 1826. The dream of a site were people met, worshiped and prayed together was founded by Reverend Moses Brock, a native of Davie County.

Fast forward to today. Smith Grove Church continues to be a gathering place for anyone. We come together and worship, sing and pray. We reach out into our community with varied ministries. We meet outside of Sunday for small group led Bible studies, fellowship meals, prayer times, Men’s Breakfast, Women’s luncheons and a yearly Vacation Bible school.

Our goal is for everyone to feel welcome. We believe that God gave his only Son so that we might be saved and have eternal life. The Bible is the inspired word of God, meaning it is God breathed and is authoritative to life and faith. You will hear the truth preached and taught at Smith Grove.

pray, grow and share with us

What to Expect

Each Sunday morning at Smith Grove you will find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where we gather in our beautiful sanctuary to worship God and grow together as His followers. It doesn’t matter where you are on your faith journey, or if you are just now looking to start, all are welcome.

Worship begins at 9:45 am in the sanctuary and Children’s Church is available, but all adults and children meet together initially. Nursery is available for infants – 2 year olds.

If you are planning to visit, we’re excited to share Jesus. We are confident you will feel loved by our family of followers. Most importantly, we pray you will feel the presence of Jesus.

you are always welcome here!

Our Core Values

Learn more about our values and our story as a church by visiting the about us page.

We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the head of our church and fully submit ourselves to His will. In every aspect of our ministry our goal is always to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. Therefore, we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be.

We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.

We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.

We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.
